Over the last several years, CrossLoop has been reviewed by such excellent publications as CNet , The Wall Street Journal , MakeUseOf and LifeHacker .  I tried it out and now I swear by it.  For those of you who don't already know about this tool, let me set the scanario.  Grandpa, Grandma, your aunt, your uncle, your friend, your co-worker (fill in the blank) who has deemed you their own personal tech support - needs help with their computer.  You have plans tonight (or not) and just don't want to drive all the way to his/her house just to fix the computer.   CrossLoop is an extremely simple tool that you can send to that person in need of computer help.  You can send them a link to download it (click on the CrossLoop logo up top to download it).  Once they download CrossLoop, they then click the "Share" tab and send you (by phone or by e-mail) their Access Code.  They click the " Connect " button (under the Share tab) and you click the ...

In an effort to keep all new tutorial videos in one place, I have created a Screencast.com account and my Library is now posted .  It will be a work-in-progress, but this is where everything new will be stored.  Now you all have a link .  Feel free to request future "screencasts," and I will do my best to create them according to need.  Thanks to TechSmith for creating such wonderful tutorial-creation tools.  They just keep getting better.

In preparing for my Evernote demo at this year's MACUL, I came across three excellent tutorial screencasts on YouTube.  The first one talks about the new features of Evernote for the Web .  It is 4:39 in length. The second is a lengthy conversation with the CEO of Evernote .  This one runs 28:05 in length and is not to be missed. The third is actually my favorite .  Clocking in at 9:33 in length, this is a very well presented demo that provides an excellent overview. After watching these three videos, you will no doubt be excited and motivated to try Evernote on all of your devices and use it daily. 

Free, high-quality software tutorials are easier to find than they once were, but the quality varies greatly from site to site, from pretty good to downright horrible.  That said, TechTutor.TV is not messing around.  Their tutorials are downright excellent, and very much free to everyone.  I found the site purely by accident when looking for a particular Photoshop CS3 tutorial .  Currently, video tutorials on TechTutor.TV include such highly-useful topics as Word, Excel and Publisher 2007, all of the Adobe CS3 applications, OpenOffice Impress and Calc, Paint.Net, as well as Firefox and Internet Explorer.  Although they are about one version behind in each software application, the tips and tutorials are first-rate, showing a wide variety of excellent skills.  You just can't beat the price, considering how much you can get without having to subscribe to an online service or buy a training DVD.  Check out TechTutor.TV and bask in its wonderful co...
